Six Ways to Find Peace and Quiet
1 Write in a journal. Recording your thoughts and feelings is a wonderful way to tune out the world and listen to your inner voice.
2 Set up a no-TV hour. Designate an hour each day when the TV will not be switched on. Also, turn off your car radio and enjoy the time to yourself.
3 Visit your local library. Sit in a reading room, close your eyes and breathe deeply in and out.
4 Eat in silence. Designate one breakfast, lunch or dinner each week as a no-talking meal – and just savour your food.
5 Learn how to meditate. It will help you to relax too.
6 Be an early bird. Once a week choose a day when you will wake up an hour before everyone else, and use that time to be still and quiet.
