Whether or not you need to lose excess weight, following the step-by-step advice in this section will help you regulate your weight and get rid of unhealthy eating habits while ensuring a balanced intake of nutrients and ultimately helping you in your battle against cellulite.

Diet

Don’t set yourself unobtainable targets, but start by introducing changes gradually. Some changes may be more difficult than others, so you might want to adopt the easier ones first and then move on to the more difficult ones. Of course, this may slow down your progress, but the important thing is that you do make progress, however slowly, rather than give up altogether.

BEFORE YOU START

Before starting out on a new eating regime, first keep a record of everything you eat over a period of four days. There is no need to weigh each food, but just make a note of approximate quantities. Weighing everything you eat will only increase the likelihood of you altering your diet in this period so that you tend only to eat foods that are easy to weigh and therefore end up with a misleading result. Or, alternatively, you may simply become’ bored by the whole process and give up altogether.

Keeping a record of what you eat should tell you which foods form the basis of your existing diet as well as when and how much you eat and, perhaps, why you eat. Often, we don’t just eat because we are hungry but also for comfort or out of boredom. Also, it is a known fact that we all underestimate the amount of food we eat. It is easy to forget that biscuit we had with the morning coffee or that bar of chocolate we devoured while waiting for the bus, so do make sure you keep an accurate record. This will enable you to see where the extra calories or junk foods have crept in. The frequency with which certain foods are eaten may also point to the possibility of a food allergy or intolerance.
