Home Remedies For Cellulite

Home remedies for cellulite is one of the most common things we’re asked about on Cellulite.co.uk, and given the expense of many cellulite treatments this is unsurprising. The truth is though that the majority of successful cellulite remedies are ‘home’ remedies, requiring little in the way of specialist treatment or knowledge.

Occasionally it may be necessary to purchase an item or two to complete such remedies, but these are usually much cheaper than an equivalent spa treatment.

The number one most important item for any home cellulite fighter to own is an exfoliating loofah, sponge or brush. Aim for a rough natural product if you decide on a loofah or sponge and use them as part of a regular regime. See below for some recommendations.

One other home remedy that is often discussed is the use of coffee grounds as a topical treatment. Many claim that they can reduce the appearance of their cellulite by simply applying a compress of their morning coffee whilst in the shower, rubbing the grounds into the skin. Whilst this method has some validity in theory, caffeine is after all a common ingredient in most cellulite creams and is known to enhance the cellular metabolic rate, increasing blood flow and reducing fluid retention. Whether applying coffee to the skin works is unknown however as it’s uncertain whether caffeine is able to penetrate the skin in sufficient quantity to affect the cells.
