The reason for this is that many of the foods one eats in order to lose weight contribute to high levels of free radicals.

What’s the harm with free radicals?

Free radicals build up in the body and end up depriving it of nutrients that the body needs to remain healthy at all times. Once the free radicals start taking control, ailments such as the ones listed below can become a serious problem for you.

  • Brain Damage
  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Hypertension
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Dementia
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Atherosclerosis

In addition to these serious conditions, free radical damage contributes to aging in the body, weakening in the tissues (including the skin) and hinders the body’s natural processes. It makes cellulite worse through reducing the dermis integrity, allowing fat budges to develop.

So, as you can see, free radicals can damage your body in more ways than one. You definitely want to try to win the fight against them.

How can one eliminate free radicals?

There are actually a few things that you can do to cut down on free radicals that attempt to take over your body. Here are the most important ones:

  • Limit your sugar intake.
Instead of having something with sugar in it all of the time, try to make it a rare occurrence. The reason for this is that sugar is one of the biggest causes of free radicals.
  • Try to stay away from fatty foods.
I’m sure that you know eating fatty foods aren’t good for your body anyway. Not only are they not healthy, but they provoke the onset of free radicals within your body.
  • Eat 5 portions of fruit each day.
Fruits actually contain ingredients which knock free radicals down to a bare minimum, putting your health in a much better state than any other type of food.
